Robert J. Ryan, Jr.
Known as Bob, Bob Jr., or Bobby, Robert J. Ryan Jr. is president of the firm he started on January 1, 2009 - almost 50 years to the day after his father, Robert J. Ryan, founded the insurance agency that became one of the largest businesses of its kind in the Hudson Valley. “I’m in the business I love, and we’re doing it the old-fashioned way, person-to-person,” Bob says.
A graduate of John A. Coleman High School, Bob earned a B.A. in business administration, cum laude, from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, VT in 1984. In 2003, he graduated from the National School of Banking at Fairfield University in CT,
where he served as president of his class. Bob holds a NY State Property and Casualty license, a Life and Health license, and has been a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) since 1987.
Bob has served on numerous industry boards and company councils including Aetna, Agway, Hanover, and the Professional Insurance Agents of NY. He is also a past president of Young Insurance Professionals Network. He has also been active in a wide variety of local activities and organizations including past president of the Boys and Girls Club, past chair of the Ulster County Development Corporation, and a representative for Ulster County on the Stewart Airport Citizens Advisory Committee. He currently serves as president of the Benedictine Health Foundation and has recently been elected to serve on Erie Insurance’s National Marketing Counsel.
Bob and his wife Amy are the proud parents of four children, Cailin, Micaela, Bobby III, and Cian.
